Gerard brings over 35 years of experience advising legal organizations across Europe on strategy and market positioning, focusing on building competitive, client-focused businesses. He is a partner in Saga, in the Amsterdam office, and has held significant roles throughout his career, including as a visiting professor at Leiden University, where he taught on the management challenges of law firms, and as a lawyer at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the United Nations.

Gerard's expertise was further honed during his tenure at Clifford Chance, where he led the "People Integration" initiative following the firm's merger with Pünder and Rogers & Wells, serving as a member of the World Firm Management team. In 2005, he established Venturis Consulting Group, which now operates across Europe to support clients in creating resilient legal businesses. His client portfolio includes leading European national and international firms, and he is renowned for his insights on law firm strategy and performance management.

As an active member of the International Bar Association (IBA), Gerard has advised the organization on strategy and governance. He has authored and contributed to multiple publications on law firm strategy, sharing his in-depth understanding of legal industry trends.


Education & Memberships

Gerard holds an LLM and a PhD from the University of Groningen and Leiden and an MBA from the University of California. He has attended leadership programs at Harvard Business School and Tilburg University and is a member of the International Bar Association (IBA).
