Profile & Professional Background
Ülkü Özkürkçü is a legal professional working at the intersection of law, technology, and innovation. She began her career as an intellectual property lawyer in Istanbul, focusing on trademark law. Her early exposure to the manual nature of legal workflows led to an interest in legal technology and process optimization. This shift prompted her transition into legal tech, where she contributed to use case development, user training, and legal prompt engineering.
During her LL.M. studies in the Netherlands, Ülkü joined the Legal Operations team at ASML, where she worked on digital transformation initiatives and supported the development of AI-driven roadmaps. Her thesis explored Generative AI and Copyright Infringement, with a particular focus on the legal risks associated with emerging technologies. She later joined Orcawise, a responsible AI consultancy, where she worked on legal prompt design in the context of the EU AI Act, helping bridge the gap between legal and technical domains.
At Saga, Ülkü supports legal professionals as an AI Adoption Expert and Legal Engineer. She plays a key role in Saga’s adoption and training programs, helping legal teams integrate AI tools into their daily work. Her focus includes prompt engineering, knowledge base development, and change management, ensuring that AI applications are implemented in a structured and legally sound manner.

Ülkü holds an LL.M. in Intellectual Property Law and Knowledge Management from Maastricht University, supported by a Jean Monnet Scholarship. She earned her LL.B. from Koç University with a full scholarship.
